Michigan Reconnect is a scholarship program that pays you to attend your in-district community college tuition-free or pays up to the in-district rate if you attend a community college where you’re considered out-of-district. In order to be eligible, applicants must be at least 25 years old.
To begin with, the Michigan Achievement Scholarship is designed to help students pursue their dreams, goals, and aspirations in the Mitten State! Moreover, graduating high school seniors are eligible to earn a skill certificate or degree at their local community college tuition-free, simply by filling out the new and simplified FAFSA.
The program ensures all eligible Detroit residents have a tuition-free path to a degree. Before applying, the student should check with the school to confirm that their degree is Pell-eligible. It is important to note that this scholarship cannot cover programs that are not Pell-eligible. Additionally, Detroit Promise funding is not competitive; every student who registers and meets the requirements will receive funding if their college determines they have an eligible funding gap.
Amount: $2,000 – $5,500
In light of the ongoing and substantial need for appropriately certified and endorsed teachers for students with disabilities, the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) is offering an expanded Special Education Teacher Tuition Reimbursement Grant opportunity.
Specifically, the Special Education Teacher Tuition Reimbursement Grant funds are intended to incentivize certified Michigan teachers to earn an endorsement in special education for employment in a program for which they are currently not qualified.

Talent Together helps you become a certified teacher. The program also helps elevate the professional credentials of existing teachers with “add-on endorsements” and mentorship training to be a lead with “teacher apprentices” at the school district.”

Physical Therapist Scholarships & Grants
In particular, this award is intended to reward and empower students who are instrumental in advancing DEI in Michigan. Moreover, an award will be given annually to a second-year Michigan physical therapy DPT or PTA student. Recipients of this scholarship will be recognized and given a check for $2,500 at the APTA Michigan Fall Conference Awards Ceremony.
Initially, this scholarship is intended to reward and encourage PT students who exemplify the four core values of Orthopedic Rehab Specialists (ORS): respect, environment, accountability, and service.
This scholarship is intended to reward and encourage PT and PTA students who are already showing promise as practical clinicians.
As part of its role in supporting and encouraging research in the State of Michigan, the APTA Michigan Institute for Education and Research has a small research grant program that is intended to provide out-of-pocket expenses/seed money for either basic or clinical research related to physical therapy and to encourage the development of new projects.
General Scholarships & Grants
To begin with, colleges and career schools use the FAFSA form to determine a student’s eligibility for financial aid. As a result, assistance may include grants, scholarships, work-study funds, and loans.

You may receive up to $17,500 in loan forgiveness if you were a highly qualified special education teacher at the elementary or secondary level. Accordingly, your primary responsibility was providing special education to children with disabilities.
Moreover, you must have taught students with disabilities that align with your area of special education training. In addition, you must have demonstrated strong knowledge and teaching skills in the curriculum areas you taught.

The TEACH Grant Program provides up to $4,000 per year in grants. In particular, it supports students who are completing or planning to complete the coursework required to start a career in teaching.

The Association of American Educators provides grants and scholarships for teachers. Specifically, grants can be used to purchase classroom supplies. Meanwhile, scholarships are available to support professional development.
The McCarthey-Dressman Education Foundation offers academic enrichment grants and teacher development grants.
Supports professional development projects that directly and significantly benefit teachers’ students. However, application requirements vary by state.
Offers grants for teachers. These grants help fund participation in professional development programs, including summer institutes, conferences, seminars, travel abroad, and action research.
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms program helps U.S.-based educators bring international perspectives to their schools.
Specifically, it funds a one-year professional learning opportunity and an international exchange that lasts a few weeks.
The McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation awards grants to individual teachers and groups of teachers.
They support the integration of innovative pedagogical strategies that promote critical inquiry.

It does this by (1) promoting the development, demonstration, and use of technology, and (2) supporting educational activities designed to provide value in the classroom.
In addition, it (3) funds captioning and video description suitable for classroom use, and (4) ensures children with disabilities receive accessible educational materials in a timely manner.

The Awesome Foundation is a global community dedicated to promoting creativity and innovation.
Founded during the long summer days of 2009 in Boston, the foundation awards $1,000 grants—no strings attached—to support unique projects and their creators. At each chapter, funds are pooled from around ten self-organizing “micro-trustees.”
These contributions are then given directly to recipients in cash, check, or even gold doubloons.
